THE UWFi RULES CONTENDERS SERIES

#UWFiContenders is Coming to Fite+

The “UWFi Rules Contenders Series” is Paradigm Pro’s legacy episodic series – a high energy hybrid of MMA and traditional professional wrestling highlighting the hardest hitting wrestling in North America. Seasons 1-5 will soon be available on Fite+.

What Are UWFi Rules?

One unique feature of PPW is that many matches are contested under a modernized version of the rules of Japan’s historical Union of Wrestling Forces International promotion.

A hybrid of pro wrestling and MMA – fights may be won via KO, TKO, Submission, or Points. There are no pinfalls, disqualifications, or count-outs. Click here to check out the full rule set and watch fight videos.

Stream Our Shows

We filmed the shows. We edited the shows. Then FITE stopped paying us (and many other people).

About a third of our catalog is still on the service now called TrillerTV+. If you already subscribe, feel free to watch it there.

You’ll find tournaments, episodic series, and a substantial number of nights when we clearly should have booked fewer matches. We just cannot tell you that subscribing is a way to support Paradigm directly.

Our Library of Events

Our back catalog is NOT lost media. It’s just currently scattered across the internet. We’ve begun to put full shows on YouTube, and you can still check out a lot of our shows on TrillerTV+. Want to watch something that’s not on either yet? Just let us know…

UWFi Rules Contenders Series

The Fighting Spirit Heavyweight Grand Prix introduced UWFi Rules to Paradigm. The Contenders Series gave us the room to find out how much we could do with them.

Across five seasons, wrestlers with backgrounds in professional wrestling, MMA, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu fought under a system built around knockouts, submissions, and points. Familiar names had to adapt. New contenders could make their case one fight at a time.

We filmed the series through long nights and marathon tapings, including the period when the pandemic had made conventional wrestling shows difficult or impossible. It became our flagship episodic show and helped introduce Paradigm to an audience well beyond the Jeffersonville Arena.

PPW No Hook

While the UWFi Rules Contenders Series explored what happened when we imposed a strict rule set, No Hook explored what happened when we gave people room to get weird.

The series ran alongside Contenders for two seasons. It mixed young independent talent, character-driven stories, hip-hop, and mysteries that could only have come out of Paradigm. Billie Starkz, Myron Reed, Sandra Moone, The Hoodfoot, and others helped make it feel unlike anything else we produced.

No Hook gave wrestlers space to show parts of themselves that a tournament bracket could not capture. It remains one of the best examples of our willingness to follow an idea just because it felt right for us.

PPW MAGNUM OPUS

After the Contenders Series and No Hook, Magnum Opus brought Paradigm’s different styles together in one weekly show.

UWFi Rules fights, hardcore matches, traditional wrestling, and long-running rivalries could all share the same episode. Wrestlers who had been with us for years appeared alongside people finding their place on the roster. Stories could carry from one week to the next, and we could finally show how all these apparently incompatible pieces belonged to the same promotion.

It was ambitious, demanding, and occasionally too much work for the resources we had. That made it a fairly honest portrait of Paradigm.
